Setting up iPads

At ERA Systems, we offer an outstanding onboarding service which involves the configuration of the iPads. We can also advise about the hardware requirements and suggestions for mounting brackets.

We have some general recommendations for the setup of iPads used at the bedside and base stations:

1. Set Auto-Lock to Never so that the iPad display stays on all the time. Ensure iPads are connected to power to avoid downtime of hardware. To do this, go to the iPad Settings app, tap Display & Brightness, tap Auto-Lock and set it to Never.

2. Turn the volume to maximum on the base station devices.

3. Use Do Not Disturb mode to avoid unwanted notification messages on the devices. This will not affect the ERA notification system. To do this, swipe down from the top right of the screen, tap Focus, then tap Do Not Disturb.

4. Use Guided Access to lock the iPads in the ERA app. To unlock the screen to use other apps, a code must be entered. You can choose what the code is, but we recommend ensuring it is not easy to guess, and be sure to keep a record of it! Find out more about guided access here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202612
